Head processing technology can be divided into two types: cold processing and hot processing. Their characteristics are compared as follows:
Characteristic of cold working of head:
1. Without heating, no material deterioration will occur, especially suitable for stainless steel head processing;
2. Without heating, the size change caused by cooling shrinkage will not occur. The shape is regular, the size is accurate and the consistency is good.
3. Without heating, the surface of the head after forming maintains the smooth surface of the original material and has a beautiful appearance.
Characteristic of hot working of head:
1. The corrosion resistance of stainless steel head decreases due to the deterioration of material during heating, which is not suitable for the processing of stainless steel head.
2. Heating forming results in die thermal expansion and head cooling shrinkage, which is difficult to control and poor consistency.
3. Because of heating, the oxide skin on the formed surface of the head is serious and difficult to remove.
